Khasab is the gateway to one of the world’s most extraordinary natural destinations. Located at the northern tip of the Musandam Peninsula — an Omani exclave surrounded on three sides by the UAE — Khasab sits just 3.5 hours from Dubai, making it one of the most accessible and spectacular weekend escapes in the entire region.
The Musandam Peninsula is famed for its dramatic desert fjords: towering limestone cliffs that plunge directly into the turquoise waters of the Strait of Hormuz, creating an otherworldly landscape that has earned the region its famous nickname, the ‘Norway of Arabia’. Unlike any other destination in the Gulf, Musandam combines the raw grandeur of a mountainous coastline with the serene beauty of sheltered, crystal-clear inlets.
The waters around Khasab are rich with marine life — including spinner dolphins, humpback dolphins, sea turtles, and an extraordinary variety of coral reef fish. For a private dhow cruise Dubai traveller venturing to Musandam for the first time, the combination of dramatic geology, vibrant marine ecosystems, and near-total tranquillity is nothing short of breathtaking.
Khasab is approximately 3.5 hours by road from Dubai. The route takes you through Ras Al Khaimah and across the UAE–Oman border at the Tibat crossing. Our private dhow cruise Dubai package includes an optional round-trip transfer in a comfortable air-conditioned vehicle, with an experienced driver who manages the border crossing process on your behalf.
Oman Visit Visa: 5 OMR — available on arrival at the Tibat border crossing or online at evisa.rop.gov.om
UAE Exit Fee: 35 AED per person — payable at the UAE border exit
Passport Validity: Must be valid for at least 90 days from the travel date
Emirates ID: UAE residents must carry their original Emirates ID
The ideal season for a private dhow cruise Musandam is October through April, when temperatures range from 20–30°C and the waters are calm. Summer months (May–September) can exceed 40°C and the open waters can be choppy — though trips still operate with appropriate precautions.
The entire dhow is exclusively reserved for your group — no other guests or strangers. You have full control of the experience, deck space, meals, and schedule.
Our traditional Omani dhows can accommodate groups ranging from 2 to 40+ guests depending on the vessel. Contact us to confirm availability for your group size.
Absolutely. Our private charter is ideal for families with children of all ages. Life jackets are provided for all guests, and our crew is trained in water safety. Children under 4 years join free of charge, and aged 5–9 at half price.
Yes. With advance notice, we can arrange personalised menus, birthday cakes, anniversary decorations, and adjusted itineraries to make your special occasion truly memorable.
Cancellations are non-refundable; however, your deposit can be carried forward for a future booking. We recommend booking as early as possible, especially for weekend and holiday dates.
The Dubai round-trip transfer is an optional add-on available at an additional charge. Our driver handles the full border crossing process, making your journey from Dubai to Khasab completely hassle-free.
